Hopskotch Memories

  1. I was born premature by 3 months so I was 1 lb. 11 oz. I chose to draw this in charcoal because it would be able to show how the memory is hazy. The only reason why it is not cartoonish is because of it's the only drawing I referenced off a photograph.
  2. My two parakeets Jude and Judy. I had them when I was in elementary school. My grandmother gave them to my family since she couldn't take care of them and they were my first pets.
  3. It may look a little confusing, but I played 3 instruments. I learned cello, piano, and violin. I added 3 essential senses you need in music. I made them colorful because I felt it would be dull with their actual colors. I kept the background white since the drawing is quite busy.
  4. Another busy one. I have four Nintendo 64 controllers and played four party games with my family. We would have game competition nights. I liked playing Mario Kart since that was the only one I was good with. I made a TV in the center so the 4-player screens released a different game per controller.
  5. There used to be five people in my family. My baby brother was born premature as well but did not make it. So this is my family based on our shoes when we were young. My shoes are the pink velcro ones. Father was a business man, mother was a pharmacist, and my sister was a tomboy.
  6. I wasn't that good at swimming as you can see my 6th place ribbon. I was a part of the community swim team in Texas.
  7. When I was little, I would go with my cousins to 7 Eleven to get slushies. Typically got the colorful one.
  8. My family would do mini-golf now and then. I was heading to the last hole, but it started pouring rain and I was getting soaked. So I didn't bother aiming for the bear but hit the ball so hard that it went over the fence and onto the highway.
For this project I related #1-8 from hopskotch to childhood memories. I made it colorful because I thought of the world in that way. The only problem with my drawings is the background lines in #6-7 that were unnecessary. But other than that, I still had fun with the project and made me look back on my childhood.
